Poetry

This is a code
Written in code
A cipher, chewed and spat
On the cave wall of information
A citation, first chanted
In the keys and clicks
Of stones and sticks
Bashed together,
Birthed in shouts of
“Oh, One, Oh, One, Oh, One!”
Transferred in grunts and utterances
To those who have ears to receive,
Envelop and store

This is a code
Written in code
A sign composed of feathers and fat and pulp
Scribbled in those communal pages
An annotation, first jotted
In the systems and symbols
Of colloquies dialects
Sketched together
Between monastic chants of
“Oh, One, Oh, One, Oh, One!”
Scripted in scratches and slashes
To those who have eyes to see
Extract and save

This is a code
Written in code
An encryption, inked and rolled
And spread in repetition
A cryptic, first spilt
In the upper and lower cases
Stuck together
Disseminated in the rhetoric of
“Oh, One, Oh, One, Oh, One!”
Produced in stains and stops
To those who have burdens to enlighten
Post and view
