Karl Jirgens, Professor Emeritus, is the former English Dept. Head and former Chair of the Creative Writing Program (U Windsor), author of 5 books (Coach House, Mercury, ECW and The Porcupine’s Quill Presses). Jirgens edited two books (on painter Jack Bush, and poet Christopher Dewdney), plus, an issue of Open Letter magazine with Beatriz Hausner. His scholarly and creative texts are published globally, most recently in Japan. Jirgens founded / edited / published Rampike, featuring stellar international art, writing, and theory (1979-2016) now digitally archived (searchable & free: http://scholar.uwindsor.ca/rampike) c/o U Windsor’s Leddy Library.
