HA&L Biographical Sketch
Cheran Rudhramoorthy
 Dr. Cheran Rudhramoorthy is a Tamil Canadian academic, poet, playwright and journalist. He is a professor at the University of Windsor. He is the author of 15 books in Tamil, and his poetry and essays have been translated into 20 languages. He has engaged deeply with themes of revolution and human rights.
His English language plays have been produced and performed in Toronto, New York, Chicago and New Jersey. Singapore’s modern dance group Chowk has produced and performed a dance-play based on his poems, The Second Sunrise.
The poems presented here were translated by Anushiya Ramaswamy, Professor of English, at Southern Illinois University, Edwardsville, USA.
