HA&L Biographical Sketch

Sarah McGibbon

Sarah McGibbonSarah McGibbon is a writer and illustrator based in Hamilton, Ontario. Many of her pieces reflect the tradition of pairing writing with an ink or watercolour illustration. The engravings of William Blake, her constantly growing collection of vintage botanical reference books, and original German folk tales all influence the work Sarah creates. The flora and fauna of her forest walks inspire much of her work. Rainy spring days are her favourite kind of days, when everything is becoming green, the ferns are unfurling, the magnolias are blooming, and little rabbits are bouncing through the garden. She often writes poetry, but is also working on a novel where her writing and illustrations can come together to tell the story. Sarah recently graduated with a BA in Creative Writing and Visual Arts.
