HA&L Biographical Sketch
Don McLean
Don McLean chaired Friends of Red Hill Valley for a dozen years during the final push to save the valley from the expressway. He's a co-founder of Environment Hamilton and of Citizens at City Hall, and continues to volunteer extensively for both. He's also very active with the Hamilton 350 Committee for real action on climate change. Before he retired, he taught courses for Athabasca University and the University of Waterloo, and spent some time as the executive director of Friends of the Don East in Toronto and the Bay Area Restoration Council in Hamilton. He's been car-free for over a dozen years and thus is often seen cycling across the city of Hamilton, from his home in Stoney Creek, Canada.
