POEMS: a selection from Impeccable Regret

by Judith Fitzgerald (1952-2015)

PHRASES OF SORROW
CONJURE WANDERING STARS

This hour. That exotic repose among flourishments
With a generous side of seductive sighs voiced (hold
mind daze). Emboldened. Gentle romp, pure lyricism.
Dove, fluttering and flivvering in the dark pine-wood
On a fishing expedition, a singular mission to discover
Who goes among green visions utterly encharmed,
In nightshell, O, swell, ShyStar, exposed unharmed.
Frail free. Lean out of any Window. Myth-maker

Sui generis: Solve and Salve Life’s Robulous Rebus.
This NothingNoise seeks counsel or that hooded moon;
Unearth a mindful scrim of bright caps. Screamer-
Dreamer or incandescent streamer by twilight turning
To amethyst come-hither. All fall doom. O, the way
He demanded whether nobody understood at all there,
Scraping further. Elemental filamental strands of flim.
Rode hard, hastened harder. Love Lift in Light Attired.
