David Haskins (1944-2022)
David Haskins is the author of This House Is Condemned (Wolsak & Wynn 2013), a literary memoir, and Reclamation (Borealis 1980) and Blood Rises (Guernica Essential Poets 2020) two of which were finalists for the Hamilton Literary Arts Awards in Non-fiction and Poetry respectively. Over 100 works appear in literary journals (Lummox, The Oxfordian, Windsor Review, Fiddlehead, Prism, Journal of Canadian Fiction), anthologies, books, and digital sites. Some have been broadcast coast to coast. Earlier writings include reviews as a theatre critic for Onion, a 1970's Toronto Arts paper. He has won first prizes from the CBC, the Canadian Authors Association, the Ontario Poetry Society, and three times from Arts Hamilton. Read the Obituary of David Haskins here.
