We Shall Write of Rivers

That we shall write
              of rivers
              of land
              against water.

Us upon the land
and the water
              moving,
              forever moving.

And us
              contorting
              to its whims,
              its needs, from
              land.

And us
              against the shore
              and the water
              as it sweeps past
              makes us contour
              that we too are in motion

that we shall write
              of rivers
              of motion

as well, too, shall follow its course.
