Hamilton Arts & Letters       Are you motivated to work towards saving the planet, to help mitigate rising atmospheric CO2 levels, or remediate and secure food production by promoting pollinators? Both goals can be achieved by planting native, “Carolinian” (original to the region) plants by seed. For me, trees are the answer. But some people promote their preferred flora and fauna, for instance, by planting milk-weed seeds to support the Monarch butterfly population, or spreading bulrush seeds to counter invasive phragmites. I collect native seeds seasonally and assist Mother Nature by re-distributing them in appropriate spots on waste (un-tended) public land. This may be considered controversial (thus, “guerilla”) by some, and reasonable precautions must be taken, like avoiding planting on private property or in tended public places like parks and cemeteries.
