Portfolio: Gordon Leverton with an Introduction by Andrew McPhail "The air seems clear if slightly blue on a warm late summer evening. Walking home from Gord's place you can glimpse his paintings just around a corner, just down that alleyway. There is a flattening abstraction going on, and a slight blue line sometimes shimmers at the edges of things. The sun casts its odd cutout shadows across shapes, slowing everything down. The horizon is a roof line, it's that enclosed. There is hardly a sound, no dogs barking, only the distant hum of traffic on Main Street. Gord's depiction of our urban surroundings demonstrates both a curiosity and an affection for Hamilton, the town we both call home.
