HA&L Biographical SketchBart GazzolaBart Gazzola works in digital media, and is focused on creating inappropriately beautiful images. He has exhibited across Canada, including Proof 7 at Gallery 44 (Toronto), Platform (Winnipeg) and Alternator Gallery (Kelowna): his most recent work was a solo exhibition of digital performative works, After Bacon, focused upon the infamous “pope” works of the painter Francis Bacon. Past curatorial projects include REGION (AKA gallery), Frailty and Fragments (TPG), and Personal Geographies (paved art + new media). He was also editorial chair of BlackFlash Magazine for three years. His Critical writings have appeared in BlackFlash, FUSE and Canadian Art, and he is the visual arts critic for Planet S Magazine. He is also host / producer of the A WORD on CFCR 90.5 FM, which is downloadable at his blog, along with a wide selection of his critical reviews and writing. Bart Gazzola is now Gallery Coordinator at AKA Gallery, having abandoned any hope for the University of Saskatchewan after teaching digital media there for more than a decade. www.bartgazzola.com
